Bristol Autism Spectrum Disorder Outreach Team

Bristol City Council

Main information

Type of service: Outreach - education

The Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Outreach Team is a local authority service which provides support for primary and secondary schools working with young people with a diagnosis of autism. Referrals are received from schools themselves. The young person is then allocated at our monthly team meeting, after which ASD Outreach Team will contact the school directly to initiate the input. The team work with the adults in the school to support the child and they also make home visits to help parents with strategies. Support is offered in a block of input. At the end of the input, a review meeting determines if further input is required.
