Main information

Type of service: Nursery and pre-schools

Portage is a home visiting educational service for pre-school children with special educational and/or additional needs. A Portage Home Visitor will come to see you usually once a week. They will play with your child, talk with you about your child's development and give you ideas for playing/teaching activities that could stimulate your child's development. The service is for any child of pre-school age who lives within the City of Bristol and is likely to have special educational or additional needs. Your Community Paediatrician, Health Visitor or any other professional involved with your child can refer you to the Portage Team. Alternatively, you can contact the Team directly to discuss your child's needs. For further information please contact Dawn Butler.
