Aims of Buddies Clubs & Services: During all organised play and leisure activities we try to: Develop the child/young person's self esteem; Empower each child/young person to explore new skills; Encourage the development of positive interpersonal relationships; Develop a feeling of belonging; Expand their opportunities for developing good communication skills (including signing) and/or vocabulary; And most importantly make all activities fun and enjoyable! We provide this by having a balanced range of play and leisure activities. We work actively with parents/carers and a range of professionals including social workers and teachers to develop a portfolio of the child /young Person's which enables us to offer a range of activities, which meets each child/young person's individual needs. After school Club 3pm-5.45pm Monday-Friday Term Time: We have three groups of children who access our after school club, 5-10 years old (children), 10-14 years old (junior teens) and 14-18 years old (senior teens). We offer children/young people a level of support appropriate to their individual needs. Structured activities include art and creative work, snack making and cookery sessions, sports and games, interactive sessions, music/ relaxation sessions and gym sessions for senior teens. Holidays Clubs - School/College Holidays: We run holiday clubs during Easter, Summer and October. We are able to take up to 50 children/young people per day. We go on a variety of trips such as swimming, theme parks, soft plays, cinema and adventure playgrounds. Teenage/Young Adult Groups age 14+ 7-9pm Monday Evening Youth Club Wednesday Evening Youth Club: We have groups on a Monday and Wednesday evenings. We encourage the young people /young adults to make their own plans and organise various outings and activities. Sunday Club age 5+ The Sunday Club: offer arts/crafts, games, drama activities and outings for children, junior and senior teens. Outreach age 5+ There are two types of outreach service: Community Support Programme: this service supports young people to attend college or community activities (ie art classes, dance classes etc). Buddies Clubs can also support young people in voluntary work or work experience. Care at Home: Buddies Clubs can provide care within the home (subject to Home Care Risk Assessment). This service can be utilised as an alternative to the Community Support Programme or as part of an Outreach package. Adventure Breaks (subject to Funding): This service has been created by and for the young people to experience holidays with their peers. During this they learn independent living skills (cooking, cleaning, planning day trips etc) These trips have been a success and have been inspirational to the young people..
