Cartrefi 's mission is to support people to achieve the best possible outcomes in life and to participate as fully as possible in their communities. Our main focus is 24 hour support to adults living in the community in their own accommodation, but we also provide support to families needing short breaks from caring responsibilities. We offer specialist support to adults on the Autistic Spectrum from teams of well trained and qualified staff who are committed to enabling people to develop skills and interests. Training includes Understanding Autism, Sensory Sensitivities, Inclusive Communication, Active Support and Positive Behaviour Management. All support workers undertake the QCF qualification in Autism. Our support is tailored to the specific needs of the person. Support may include augmented communication systems such as PECS or Makaton, Low Arousal Environments, Sensory Sensitivity Profiles and Behavioural Support Assessments and Plans. Cartefi works in a Person Centred Active Support approach that is very effective in supporting adults on the autistic spectrum to learn new skills and increase levels of personal autonomy and independence.

We can provide shorter sessions of support to the individual in and away from the family home. We also offer overnight respite, enabling families to have a break for up to a fortnight.
