Main information

Type of service: Day schools, Schools

Castle School is an all area special school which caters for students with a range of learning needs from the ages of 2-19 years. Primary classes are taught in ability groups, working together to access numeracy and literacy, and specialist subject provision. There is also a structured support class in the primary department. Our secondary pupils follow a secondary model of movement around the school accessing specialist subject provision in ability groups. Castle School is an inclusive school and seeks to ensure access for students within both ability and social groupings. We have teaching assistants dedicated for the provision of practical support for our students, ensuring access to the curriculum and providing opportunities for 1:1 and small group work.
