Centre Academy is a Council for the Registration of Schools Teaching Dyslexic Pupils (CReSTed) approved co-educational day school for students with learning difficulties including Dyslexia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Classes are small and are complemented by withdrawal and in-class support provided by Speech and Occupational Therapists (OTs), the counsellor and literacy specialists. There are a range of one-to-one offices and an adapted movement room for OT. It is one of the few special schools to be selected for inclusion in the 'Good Schools Guide'. Students represent a broad range of backgrounds, needs and abilities. The school offers the National Curriculum through to General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSEs), 14-19 Foundation Learning (FL) for which it has BTEC approval. The school offers the High School Diploma at Sixth form level which can enable university entry.
