Centre on Human Rights for Disabled People
Disability Action
Main information
Type of service: Advocacy (general)
Website: http://www.disabilityaction.org
Our visions is a population of disabled people who see the positive, independent and contributing aspects of their lives and who are supported to empower themselves to make those contributions to society. A society in which non disabled people recognise the rights of disabled people to be different, to live their lives in a way which meets their particular needs without prejudice and unfavourable treatment. A society, which is inclusive and which adapts to meet the needs of disabled people, rather than expecting disabled people to fit in. We offer an advocacy service which addresses human rights abuses and/or queries - this service is available to children and adults with a disability living in Northern Ireland.
