The Children's Shoebox was started by three mothers from Northampton with young children who grew frustrated with the experience of shopping for children's shoes. Their main problem were with the shops, which tend to be busy and hectic, and not a place where children want to spend time. It is a mobile outfit, which can bring shoes and expertise to a venue near you - be that a nursery, village hall, school or playgroup - so you can see the range, try them on and make your decision in a more relaxed, familiar atmosphere. There is also a shop based on Collingwood Road, Northampton. Opening times are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10am-5pm and Saturday 10am-3pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays it is possible to book private appointments in the shop. Sizes range up to adult 3, schools shoes up to adult 7.
