The Resource is a 21 place unit for children who have a diagnosis of autism or Asperger syndrome. Although based in the Resource, where they may access specialist services like speech and language therapy, children spend much of their time in mainstream classrooms. Christ the King is a Catholic School but entry to the Resource is made through Reading Borough Council's special educational needs (SEN) panel and the only criteria are that the child should have a diagnosis of autism or Asperger syndrome and should be able to access the mainstream curriculum.
