Collective Opportunities

Ipswich

Main information

Type of service: Play and leisure

Collective Opportunities helps children and young people aged 5-14 years to enjoy local leisure activities they may otherwise miss out on because of difficulties in their lives. Local leisure activities encourage children and young people to join in, make friends and grow in confidence in a familiar environment. Having friends encourages children and their families to feel part of the community and so reduces the risk of anti-social behaviour. Collective Opportunities can pay for fees, transport, equipment and any additional support staff needed so children and young people can join in. You can apply if you are a child aged 5-14 years old, their parents, or other family member, or a professional such as teacher, doctor, health visitor or child care practitioner. There is no single centre for providing activities, each child chooses what to do and local providers are used to provide the activity. There are approximately 300 providers on the database providing play and leisure such as out of school clubs, Cubs, karate, swimming lessons, trampolining, gymnastics, drama, dance etc.
