Community Buddies is part of Hampshire County Councils short breaks programme. Anybody who is aged 7-19 years can access the scheme. It was designed after feedback from parents which showed that many young people wanted the opportunity to access facilities in the community but were unable to go on their own. By going with a buddy many young people are now able to visit and access places and facilities they were not previously able to. Many of the young people currently using the scheme are going with their buddy to town, cinema, parks, bowling or simply going out for a meal.
