Both the East and Midlothian diagnostic teams are part of NHS Lothians' Community Child Health department, and see children with a range of developmental difficulties. As part of that assessment a child may be diagnosed as having an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and may sometimes attend specialist joint speech and paediatric communication clinics.

Assessment procedure: Multi-agency meetings and support.

Follow up service: Follow up meetings.

Multi-disciplinary assessment: Yes. Paediatrics Psychiatry Speech and Language Therapy Educational Psychology.

Aimed at: Adolescent , Child

Gender: All genders

Referral Sources: NHS Only

Covers: East Lothian, Midlothian
