Contact a Family West Midlands can help by offering information and support for parents and carers of children with disabilities or special needs. Information is available on a wide range of issues, including local and national support groups, available services, specific conditions, benefits, respite, leisure and holidays. A quarterly regional newsletter is distributed free of charge and local workshops, events and conferences are run. Contact a Family West Midlands also works alongside professionals to ensure that the needs of parents, carers and children with special needs are represented. Training is provided to professionals and groups on issues that affect families of children with special needs. Support for the development of new parent groups and the strengthening of existing parent groups is also on offer.
