'Cranmer Court' is a new build, residential care home, set in landscaped gardens, providing 24 hour support for adults with a learning difficulty who may also have a physical disability. The home is registered with the Care Quality Commission and offers accommodation and support to meet individual requirements. The accommodation comprises of eight bedrooms in the main house with an adjoining annex of two further rooms. In brief the main property comprises of ground floor accommodation as follows: 8 bedrooms each with an en-suite shower, sink, and toilet; Furniture including, ceiling tracking (if required) from bedroom to en-suite and profiling height adjustable bed; furnished lounge; Kitchen /dining room with height adjustable tables; Assisted bathroom; Level access entry from the car park to the front of the property, with level access throughout the home and a flat patio with gardens and raised flower beds to the rear of the property; Selected light oak bedroom chests and wardrobes that match the profiling beds; A multi-sensory and activity room; A laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer; and A wheel chair store. In addition the home has an adjoining ground floor annex with: 2 bedrooms each with en-suite shower/bath, sink and toilet; Kitchen/dining room and lounge with height adjustable tables; Furniture including; ceiling tracking (if required) from bedroom to en-suite and profiling height adjustable bed; and Selected light oak bedroom chests and wardrobes that match the profiling bed. The home has a number of off-street parking spaces and has its own adapted vehicle to enable service-user transport to community based facilities. The home has a call system fitted through-out the building to enable staff and service-users to maximise the responsiveness of the support available. The home is close to bus and road transport routes and is 2 miles from Leeds town centre. Nearby, there are facilities such as riding stables for the disabled, a hydro-therapy pool, bowling and restaurants/cafes with disabled access. There is a post office, health centre, pharmacy, places of worship and many other opportunities to suit different tastes. Staffing levels, in line with Care Quality Commission requirements, allow for a dedicated baseline staffing of 5 staff on duty during the day, with a waking night person and on-call sleep-in person on duty at night. The staffing allows for a full-time Manager a Deputy Manager and a number of care/support staff. All staff are police checked before working with service-users and all follow a selection process. In addition, all staff undergo training before working with service-users in line with the requirements of the Learning Disability Award Framework.
