Type of service: Interventions and therapies

The service promotes communication, mental and physical health through art and massage. It offers art and craft sessions as medium for relaxation, self-discovery and opening channels of communication. It is trained in Massage in Schools Programme and Thai Hand Massage to promote relaxation, focus and concentration as well as aiding communication and appropriate touch. I am also qualified to use Sherborne Development Movement, promoting awareness of self and others through physical movement. I am a qualified teacher and am trained in Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Makaton. I would be more than happy to work with other professions to meet an individual's needs. I am able to work in a variety of settings with all age groups. The service provides: provide independent expert reports, make home visits, visit a client's nursery school or college and attend tribunals/educational appeal committees.
