We are a specialist team comprising psychiatry, psychology, speech and language, physio and occupational therapy. A specialist diagnostic, assessment and intervention service for individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and Asperger syndrome. We provide a service including diagnostic opinions, assessment, intervention and support for individuals with possible autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) or Asperger syndrome. Our tailor made approach is flexible and responsive for clients of all ages. We have worked at tertiary/quarternary level in the public sector including specialist London hospitals and various educational facilities and maintain links with the National Health Service (NHS). Assessments for medico-legal cases and the provision of reports/court attendance are also provided when requested. Intervention and support includes meeting with the family, working with parents, liaison with schools, school staff training, advice and support to local teams, communication specific intervention, cognitive behavioural therapy and social skills training. The service caters for autism spectrum and co-occurring conditions; attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional and defiant disorder (ODD), learning disability (LD), tics, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), pathological demand avoidance (PDA), anxiety and depression..

Assessment procedure: In-depth developmental history using the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R). Assessment of child's strengths and weaknesses. School & home visit where appropriate.

Follow up service: Yes, for children on medication, involved in behavioural interventions or to provide parents with more information.
