Derbyshire Autism Services (DAS) specialises in supporting anyone affected by autism, within and across the boundaries of Derbyshire. We support children from the age of 5, teens, young adults and mature adults. We also work closely with the families of our clients, recognising that autism is a condition that has an impact on the whole family, not just the individual person. We offer support to participate in 1:1 and 2:1 activities in the community, as well as supporting individuals and parents in their own homes to achieve their targets and goals.We also run a variety of supportive and active groups, including children's summer clubs, adults' social groups and one for parents, carers and partners.We have a particular expertise in supporting people with additional mental health issues, as well as those who find themselves involved in the criminal justice system and we are experienced as working as part of a multi agency team to support people with complex needs. We are an active partner organisation in boards seeking to improve outcomes in these areas. We have a holiday home in the Peak District, which we can offer to individuals and families wanting to get away from it all, as well as using it as a base to provide 'respite' support for people (adults and children) who would benefit from a supported stay away from home.We offer a range of training opportunities, mentorship, advice and guidance to professionals interacting with people with autism, such as teachers, the police force and housing associations and we provide a signposting service to those needing specific specialist input.
