Donaldson's Transition Project

Donaldson's

Main information

Type of service: Employment services, Outreach - education

Donaldson's believes in 'More Choices, More Chances' and has encapsulated its principles into our Transition Project for young deaf adults or those with communication difficulties aged 16-24 years. To make sure our students have the best possible start in their post-school life and we work with other agencies, Councils, further education (FE) colleges, and organisations such as the Careers Service to support them in every way. The first new project launches in July 2011 with a Healthy Body and Healthy Mind Boot Camp. Other projects will include: driving theory and training; creating a DVD on building CVs and attending interviews; creating a DVD on deaf awareness for employers; and Transition Support. All projects within the Transition Project are free to attend and all applicants must be aged between 16-24 years and be either deaf or have communication difficulties.
