Mainstream nursery and primary school with a Communication Base for children who have been assessed as experiencing communication difficulties related to autism spectrum disorder, including Asperger syndrome. The staff in the Communication Support Base employ a range of teaching techniques and learning resources according to the specific needs of each pupil. The Curriculum for Excellence programme is delivered to all pupils within a very structured setting based on the Teacch approach..

The Base is also home to the educational outreach service, aiming to support staff in mainstream classes who require support with social communication and social behaviour. .
