Dovestones is a purpose-built facility within a sector Further Education (FE) College. The department was designed and built to meet the needs of students who present a wide range of ability including those with severe and profound learning difficulties, moderate learning difficulties (not based within the Dovestones area) and students who present challenging behaviours. Dovestones contains a number of base rooms, Information Technology (IT) suite, life skills room, laundry, changing areas, physiotherapy and medical rooms, sensory rooms and an enclosed garden area. Dovestones aims to provide a package of multi-disciplinary support to all students enrolled on a wide range of programmes, so in addition to the college tutors, support and care staff, we have support from medical staff, physiotherapy and speech and language therapy. Other extra curriculums offered by the service are employability, community projects, community enterprise and cafe.
