Equality and Human Rights Commission / EASS

Main information

Type of service: Online services

Equality and Human Rights Commission: We have a statutory remit to promote and monitor human rights; and to protect, enforce and promote equality across the nine "protected" grounds - age, disability, gender, race, religion and belief, pregnancy and maternity, marriage and civil partnership, sexual orientation and gender reassignment.

Equality Advisory Support Service (EASS): The Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) was commissioned by Government in 2012 to replace the EHRC Helpline, which is now closed. The service is here to give free advice and guidance to individuals who need expert information, advice and support on discrimination and human rights issues and the applicable law, particularly when this is more than advice agencies and other local organisations can provide.
