Main information

Type of service: Interventions and therapies

This is a community interest company and a small charity where we offer therapeutic horsemanship to disabled and disadvantaged people, and we specialise in working with people with autism. We have provided therapeutic horsemanship in an autism friendly environment for the last seven years. We have accommodation on site so we offer residential work in addition to regular sessions, and we also run summer camps with our horses specifically for families with a child or children with autism. We work with schools, local authority departments and individuals and we would like to reach more people who could benefit from spending time with our horses. Equine Learning has been offering therapeutic horsemanship in South Warwickshire since 2008. We have worked with schools, care providers, Local Authority departments and individuals to offer our sessions, camps and other programmes to disabled and disadvantaged adults, children and young people from Warwickshire and across the United Kingdom (UK). We are a licensed and insured riding establishment. Our vision is to be a 'Community Equestrian Centre' where anyone can benefit from our therapeutic programmes. We specialise in working with young people with autism, however we work with a range of people with our horses, including, but not limited to, people with learning difficulties, sensory impairments, emotional & behavioural difficulties, depression, eating disorders, physical impairments, young carers, people with mental health difficulties and excluded young people. We offer regular weekly sessions to local people and we have accommodation that can be booked for people who live further afield and would like to work with our horses and stay on site. Funded access to our work may be available (subject to availability of funds & means testing) through The Centaurus Trust, registered charity no: 1133212. Please contact us for more details. We also offer clinics, horsemanship training, riding lessons, teambuilding and leadership days to assist with our sustainability and offer learning opportunities to everyone..
