Fearnley House is a well-presented bungalow situated next door to Heronsmede, another CHOICE home, in the historic town of Old Windsor . Situated 3 miles from Staines and Windsor , it offers individualised accommodation for four adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities who may also have additional physical mobility needs. The home has been tastefully modernised and upgraded to provide a safe, yet homely, environment with four single bedrooms, two separate bathrooms (one with a walk-in shower and bath hoist) and a large lounge/dining room. A separate day services summer house can be found in the secluded and well-kept garden, affording service users an area to explore creative and educational activities. We promote self-help and community integration by encouraging independence and personal achievement in living skills, social development, communication and education, whilst at the same time preserving and upholding self-determination, privacy and dignity. We take care to meet individual physical and emotional needs, encouraging development through preferred activities and nurturing positive relationships with staff and peers. Referrals can be made by a Social Worker/Care Manager or directly from parents themselves. However, before assessment can take place the Care Manager acting on behalf of the service user must be consulted.
