Firwood is a severe learning disabilities (SLD) school teaching children who are aged 11-19 years. We have a profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) class, 3 autism spectrum disorder (ASD) classes and a 14-19 Further Education (FE) unit. Students from the age of 14 work towards outside accreditation awards with OCR. We have a variety of links with mainstream schools and also with the local further education college. Pupils are educated in groups with other pupils with ASD. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
