Flamingo Chicks - inclusive dance class

Bristol

Main information

Type of service: Play and leisure

Flamingo Chicks is Bristol's first fully-inclusive dance class, where all youngsters can spread their wings. It gives disabled children or those with special needs the opportunity to explore movement and have fun alongside able-bodied friends. Our children are all shapes, sizes and abilities - some have Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy or autism, others may be wheelchair users.

There's plenty to stimulate and engage with dancing ribbons, feathers, chiffon scarves and magical routines - it's guaranteed to be the best fun! .

The class is open to kids aged 5 to 8 and is aimed at helping them develop confidence, social skills, co-ordination, communication and concentration.
The one-hour session has a mix of drama and dance styles from ballet and modern to street dance and simple yoga at the end to wind-down. .
