Main information

Type of service: Residential services

Forest Haven provides registered residential care for five individuals who have a diagnosis of autism or autistic spectrum condition. The service at Forest Haven is specifically aimed at supporting those individuals with autism who experience some degree of challenging behaviours and who benefit from a dedicated personalised support plan within a setting that also offers the chance to access plenty of open space. The design of the property offers for one bedroom to be a self-contained 'flat' with lounge / dining / kitchen area plus en-suite shower and separate entrance. This specific room suits an individual with quite high care needs who perhaps has difficulty in 'living' with other people and therefore rather than living completely separately they have access to the communal areas of the property and access to other residents as and when they chose to mix socially on their terms. The aim is to have an environment that is sensitive to the needs of those with Autism and related conditions and to assist those people on the Autistic Spectrum to develop the skills and abilities to negotiate the world and take an active part in community life. Clearwater Care take on Board the principles of the National Autism strategy and have a continued commitment to the valuing people principles.
