Aims to address the needs of young people aged 18+ with autism. Foyle Autism has adopted a twin track approach that involves carers and parents in the empowerment process for the young person. This is a rolling programme that seeks to support the individual through education, training, employment and independent living. The programme places a priority on developing social skills. Foyle autism meets as a group each month and there are individual meetings on a day to day basis. The programme also draws upon the expertise of professionals within the statutory sector. Foyle Autism, as part of the Destined organisation, also offer advocacy to individuals aged 18+.

Eligibility

Age: From age 18 to 30

Aimed at: Adult , Parent/carer of a child, Parent/carer of an adult

Gender: All genders

Registrations & Approaches

Specialisms: Exclusively autism specific, Staff and volunteers get autism awareness training

Other specialisms: Child protection, Community care, Criminal justice, Education, Employment, Learning disability, Welfare benefits
