Freedom Surf is a pioneering disabled surfing project based at Fistral Beach in Newquay. Its mission is to provide fun and life-changing surfing experiences for people with physical disabilities, autism and special educational needs. All of the lessons are run by professional surf coaches, who have had specialist training and experience of working with people with disabilities. They are supported by a team of highly trained, dedicated volunteers. Freedom Surf have invested in a 4 x 4 trailer that converts into a on beach changing facility, beach wheelchairs and are fully equipped with winter wet suits, boots and gloves. The organisation accepts both self referrals and those from health professionals.
