Goobie Blankets are weighted blankets made to a size where they should not hang over the edge of the bed, yet large enough to fully cover the body of those using them, to help relax them to be able to fall asleep.
They may be used as part of a "Sensory Diet" as prescribed by an Occupational Therapist at times where the user needs to self regulate their sensory input if they are over stimulated and need to calm down before transitioning into a task which requires focus (ie: coming in from playing outside, running in the playground to sitting at a table and chair, listening quietly to the teacher).
They are made in boy/girl/unisex prints and filled with non-toxic poly pellets (the same that are used in Cloth for Comfort Lap Bags, Exploratory Bags and many commercially produced teddy bears and soft toys). These pellets are separated into sections to ensure balanced weight distribution.
