Grantham College - Ready4Work

Grantham

Main information

Type of service: Further & Higher Education

Ready4Work is a Lincolnshire wide project, funded through Lincolnshire County Council and the European Social Fund, to engage and work with learners aged between 19-24, who have a lifelong learning difficulty or disability - with priority given to those diagnosed with autism - to help them develop the basic and soft skills they need for employment or training. .

The main aim of the Ready 4 Work programme is to develop a customised programme of delivery around the learner, to directly support the needs of the individual, rather than to have a standard programme of delivery that, perhaps, isn't relevant. To date, we have engaged a large number of individuals who have, with our help and support, managed to secure sustained employment or volunteer work. We have also supported a number of learners who feel that work is not for them, but felt that the employability work we have completed with them has increased their confidence, and ultimately their independence. .
