Headlands School is a residential 'special' school for children with challenging behaviours. It has within it a residential provision called Elandash for high functioning autism spectrum disorder (ASD) children. All of the children are taught in mixed groups. The provision for ASD children has gained a substantial reputation in its short existence. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. Another intervention, approach and therapy offered by the school is Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
