Type of service: Respite and short breaks

Provides short-term breaks for disabled children, including children with autism spectrum disorders. The children can make new friends and develop a social and community life outside their family and school whilst their families have a break. Placements are with approved foster carers who provide day care and/or overnight stays. Referrals come via social workers in the Children with Disabilities Team. New foster carers are always needed.
