Type of service: Befriending/mentoring, Family support and information services, Respite and short breaks

Supports young families with at least one child under 5 years of age, in their own home. Volunteers offer informal, friendly, practical support. They can look after children, give parents/carers an hour or two to themselves, accompany the family to the hospital or clinic, or just spend some time listening. Support is normally available during the day for 2-3 hours once a week. Also provides a Ladies Group where parents can get together to enjoy adult company and a range of activities. Includes basic English classes for those learning English as a foreign language. 2 Mums and Tots groups have also been introduced. Bus outings and fun days are organised during school holidays..
