Hope School is a social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD) school specialising in behaviour. We cater for boys who are aged 6 to 13 years who often have additional needs to their behaviour difficulties. These additional needs include autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia and moderate learning difficulties. On entry the pupils take part in a range of baseline assessments. The intervention offered to our pupils is specifically based on their individual needs which are identified from the outcome of the baseline test. A 'child friendly' Individualised Education Program (IEP) is then produced where the pupil identifies difficulties and the class teacher identifies how the school can support them. The two members of staff who are funded using Pupil Premium funding then develop an individual programme of support. When staff of parents want to refer a child the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) observes the child's behaviours in the class and the staff then discusses with the IEP what is the best route for the child. Every child at Hope has statement before entry. Intevention: Lexia, guided reading, Ruth Miskins 'Read Write Inc', Toe by toe, Up level writing and Social Stories. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
