Type of service: Play and leisure, Respite and short breaks, Social groups

Hop, Skip and Jump offers respite sessions for children and young people with life threatening illnesses or any special needs. It has both indoor (log cabins) and outdoor facilities and provides a safe haven for children where they can play and have fun, giving parents and carers some valuable respite. Facilities include an art and craft room, soft play areas, white and dark sensory rooms, kitchen and outdoor adventure playground equipment. The centre is open Monday to Saturday. Respite is offered at the Saturday Club, Holiday Club and three After School Clubs. Annual family membership is available so that the whole family can enjoy the facilities. There is an Adult Social Club on Thursdays for those over 17 with special needs which runs from 6-8pm. Volunteers may be accepted to work with service users. Self-referrals and those made by other agencies are accepted..
