Main information

Type of service: Counsellor

I am a humanistic Gestalt counsellor and I provide a counselling service for neurodivergence (with or without a diagnosis). This includes, (and not limited to): Autism, ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome, Tourette’s Syndrome, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. I also provide a counselling service to those, (family members, friends, carers, and the wider community) supporting neurodivergence. I have experience of working with neurodiversity within a counselling capacity and as a specialist mentor. As a neurodivergent therapist I feel that I can relate to, and have experienced first-hand, some of the challenges resulting from neurodiversity. Maybe you would like support with understanding what neurodivergence may mean for you and your family? Or perhaps you are wondering if you or a family member is neurodivergent and you might not be too sure what to do? You might be experiencing a range of feelings resulting from a late diagnosis or a misdiagnosis that you wish to work through. I support individuals to work through difficulties with social communication or with establishing, managing and sustaining relationships. I also explore neurodiversity within an education or workplace setting, and with understanding sensory experiences and preferences. Finally, you might be female and looking to understand your specific neurodivergent presentation. Autism and neurodivergence can affect individuals in a number of ways. Whilst autistic or neurodivergent individuals will share certain characteristics, they will experience these differently. I modify the counselling sessions to accommodate your individual needs and I invite you to contact me to discuss your needs. In addition to my experience with neurodiversity I am experienced in working with a range of presenting issues including, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief and relationship difficulties. My sessions are autism, neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ friendly. I offer short term and long term, online or telephone counselling sessions to adults of all ages within the UK. I also offer sessions face to face at my private practice, in Fareham, Hampshire. Sessions are available Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and some evening and weekend appointments available. I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation to help you decide if I am the ‘right’ counsellor for you.
