Type of service: Befriending/mentoring

Jigsaw is a befriending scheme for children and young people aged 6-15years on the autism spectrum living in Sheffield. Following initial meetings from staff, volunteers will visit the young person in their home to develop social skills and confidence. Volunteers are matched to a befriendee with similar interests. Towards the end of their befriending there will be a Fun Day for all young people and volunteers. When: Initial visits Sept-Dec. Befriending to take place January - May. Time: To be arranged between families and volunteers and is usually 1 hour a week. Where: Home of participant.
