Langtry Children's Centre Nursery centre provides day care and education for under fives, offering places to 9 babies between 4 months and 2 years, 12 toddlers between 2 and 3 years, 48 3-5 year olds in two nursery classes, and 4 places offered to children on the autism spectrum, aged between 2.5 and 5 years old. The special provision for children with autism is called the Earth Group. The requirement for being considered for a place in the unit is a diagnosis of autism, the Statement of Educational Need does not have to be in place, this can be dealt with by the unit. Placement is made through the Special Needs Placement Panel.
