This is a school for children with severe and complex learning difficulties (SLD) which caters for a growing number of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). This is a day school. Generally students follow personalised curriculum usually based in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) classes and groups. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. The facilities are at the local mainstream academy (14-19 years). Hilltop School caters for young people with severe and complex learning difficulties, there is a growing population of young people with an ASD, and young people with PMLD. Generally students follow a very personalised curriculum. All young people hold a statement of special educational needs (SEN). We work closely with mainstream schools in our Learning Community. Short breaks are just for their own pupils.
