Midlands Autistic/Aspie Women's Meet Up

Birmingham

Main information

Type of service: Social groups

Friendship, food and coffee in a relaxed, informal atmosphere with like-minded women. The Women's meet ups in central Birmingham have been happening since 2017. This is a warm and supportive group, open to anyone identifying as autistic and female (Diagnosis not required as we understand how hard getting an diagnosis can be for autistic women). We gather usually around 11am and stay until about 6pm. You can arrive or leave whenever you like. Children and supporting neurotypicals (non-autistics/muggles) are welcome to attend but the focus is on autistic women. We can meet you at a train station (Birmingham New Street is the closest train station for local and cross-country services) or have a good chat beforehand if it would make you feel more comfortable. Besides socialising, we help, support, and advocate for each other based off our own personal (and occasionally professional) experiences. Join the (private) Facebook group to find out when our next gathering will be (or help us decide when we should have it). Check your 'message requests' and 'filtered messages' folders because we may message you to check that you are genuine and are in the United Kingdom (UK). The Facebook page of this group is https://www.facebook.com/groups/1314414978642079/ *The group is trans and non-binary inclusive.
