Type of service: Interventions and therapies

Music therapy service with experience working with people on the autism spectrum. Music therapy uses music to address non-musical goals such as physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs. MTCNI has a pool of experienced therapists that can visit a client at home, school or college, attend tribunals and educational appeal committees and provide independent expert reports. All therapists are members of the Health Professionals Council (HPC). Many of our therapists have extensive training and background in working with children and adults with ASD. Emma herself was a special needs teacher and has extensive training and knowledge in the area of ASD. Emma also provides training to parent groups, schools and community groups on the 'Music and communication- the benefits of using music in the home'

Covers: Antrim and Newtownabbey, Ards and North Down, Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Belfast, Derry City and Strabane, Lisburn and Castlereagh, Mid and East Antrim, Newry, Mourne and Down
