Main information

Type of service: Respite and short breaks

Nelson Lodge is a six bedded short stay residential short breaks centre in Long Stratton, South Norfolk. Nelson Lodge caters for school age children with autism spectrum disorders or other learning disabilities including associated physical disabilities and challenging behaviours. The centre offers enjoyable breaks for children and much needed support to families. Whilst the school holidays tend to be the busiest times, the centre is full during term times too with children travelling to and from school and staying at weekends. Opened in 2004, this purpose built centre is well equipped with a wonderful 'sensory room', and range of play equipment - including a Wii. Outside there is a good sized garden with play equipment to enable the children to enjoy stimulating play in the fresh air.
