Type of service: Outreach - education

The autism spectrum disorder (ASD) Service is a Stage Three to Five provision for children presenting with difficulties associated with ASD in mainstream schools in the Belfast Education and Library Board (BELB). The service is run by the BELB and managed by the principal of Oakwood School and Assessment Centre. The staff support pupils from pre-school to post-primary and offer training to parents and professionals. Referrals to the ASD Advisory Service can only be made through the Educational Psychology Service at BELB. Referrals to the service are made through educational psychology. We support children with ASD and associated difficulties in schools within the Belfast area.
