This is a secondary autism spectrum disorder (ASD) provision for 20 students aged 11-18. All students have a diagnosis of ASD and are working at an academic level that allow inclusion into some mainstream lessons. The ASD Centre is part of an established secondary school, which allows our pupils to access a curriculum which is individually designed to match their strengths. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils and must be criminal records bureau (CRB) checked. The school uses elements of the Structure, Positive (approaches and expectations), Empathy, Low arousal, Links (SPELL) framework. Another intervention, approach and programme offered by the school are boardmaker symbols.
