Old Bexley Church of England Primary School

Bexley London Borough Council

Main information

Type of service: Day schools, Schools

We are an 8-place Resource Base for children with Autism within a large (3 form entry) primary school. We place a high emphasis on effective inclusion, and use autism spectrum disorder (ASD) specific strategies to enable access to the curriculum and school life. The children are all part of a peer group class, and range in ages from 5-11 years. They receive education programmes tailored to their individual needs where appropriate. We aim to maintain an autism-friendly ethos throughout the school, and all staff receive training in autism. The Resource Base consists of a 'quiet' classroom, a calming room and a sensory room.
