Options Kinsale is an Estyn registered care and education service for children and young people aged 8 to 19 years. Residential, day, short break and outreach placements are available, with up to 52-week residential care provided within specially designed accommodation. Set in a rural location overlooking the Dee Estuary in North Wales, Options Kinsale provides integrated programmes of care, education and therapy for children and young people with complex needs, including autism, Asperger syndrome, dyspraxia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). As well as impaired social or cognitive functioning due to early life trauma and attachment difficulties. Staff at Options Kinsale take a person-centred and outcomes-focused approach to learning and believe that education should be individually tailored and delivered in a variety of environments. Using complementary techniques and approaches, the service offers education including access to the National Curriculum and vocational based curriculums. Providing a waking day curriculum means that education is promoted beyond the classroom to ensure that each young person develops social, communication and life skills. Options Kinsale has an on-site clinical team that works closely with the education and care staff to develop the communication and life skills of each student.
