Orchard End is a large, detached home spaciously set in 2.5 acres of land adjacent to the banks of the River Severn, only three miles from Gloucester city centre. The accommodation is divided up into two buildings, including six individual bedrooms in the main house, with another six in the adjacent bungalow. Most have en-suite facilities. There are also two large recreational lounges and an independence training area. Orchard End is a lively home which is specifically able to meet the needs of people with epilepsy and autism, through the valued support of Community Learning Difficulty Teams (CLDT), the local GP and district nurse team. They have busy and full activity programmes for their service users and have good links with the local colleges. There are regular social events for family, friends and the local community, which service users are fully involved with, and we they good communication and relationships with significant others through quarterly newsletters.
