OT Ideas Ltd employs a state registered Occupational Therapist who belongs to the College of Occupational Therapy and has over 25 years experience in the NHS. They are also an independent disability employment adviser. Occupational Therapy can be provided to individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorders as well as supporting families of people with ASD. Particular speciality includes facilitating reasonable adjustments in the workplace for people with ASD and other disabilities. Disability Specific Awareness Training can be provided for any employer, including detailed employment responsibilities under Equality legislation and creating successful reasonable adjustments. Individual work-based assessments can be provided upon request which includes analysis of the impact of environmental, social and functional abilities of the employee with ASD in their chosen employment. Advice given to both employer and employee regarding reasonable adjustment solutions is provided in the form of a written report. OT Ideas ltd can also signpost to other statutory and non-statutory organisations. Recommendations for the development of good practice initiatives in employment particularly for people with ASD . Bespoke training packages on adjustments to service delivery for any business that interfaces with people with disabilities. The service is able to: provide independent expert reports; make home visits; visit a clients nursery school or college; attend tribunals/educational appeal committees.
