Pauline Burnet House offers a permanent house to 8 people with learning difficulties and complex physical needs. The high staffing ratio, plus the provision of specialist equipment and adaptations and the design of the house, encourages active participation and independence for all the residents, tailored to each person's individual needs. The ground floor, built to full mobility standards, comprises a spacious open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting room area, with a built-in snoezelen, four single bedrooms, a separate airy lounge, utility room, bathroom and two wc's. The first floor comprises three further single bedrooms, a study, a bathroom, a shower room, two wc's and an alarm linked en-suite staff bedroom which allows for permanent overnight staff support. All resident's bedrooms are personalised according to their tastes and needs and have wash basins and ample power and TV sockets. The house décor is maintained to a high standard and some day time support is provided which is funded by Social Services.
