Main information

Type of service: Residential services

Peppard House supports seven individuals with moderate to severe learning disabilities and associated complex needs. It is a large, mature, detached house of considerable character, close to Caversham Village , with accommodation stretching over three floors. There are three single bedrooms on the ground floor, one of which has en suite facilities, and four bedrooms on the first floor. Further accommodation includes a large lounge area, dining room, three bathrooms and two sensory rooms. At the back of the house is the day services and recreation room where service users can enjoy arts & crafts, communication, relaxation and educational activities. Our aim is to enable individuals to live as fulfilling a life as possible in a secure environment within a community setting. We promote independence, choice and community integration, and encourage and provide opportunities for personal development in daily living and social skills, communication and education, decision making and future planning. We meet individual physical and emotional needs with sensitivity and nurture a positive range of relationships with staff and peers. To provide this service we take a holistic, valued lifestyle approach to ensure all needs are met. Referrals can be made by a Social Worker/Care Manager or directly from parents themselves. However, before assessment can take place the Care Manager acting on behalf of the service user must be consulted.
